This role involves supporting surveying project managers in creating accurate and high-quality maps and plans using CADD software. The position requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Some fieldwork may also be required.

Required Experience:

  • CADD Expertise: At least two years of experience/training with Autodesk, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Legal Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Joyner Keeny is seeking an experienced and licensed Assistant Project Manager in Geomatic Engineering or Surveying to join our dynamic team. This role requires a dedicated professional with strong technical skills in surveying and project management to coordinate and supervise multiple projects. The successful candidate will primarily work in an office setting but will maintain a close connection with field crews, ensuring project goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Required Experience: 

​

  • Professional Licensure: Must be a licensed surveyor in any state, with assistance provided for NC licensure if needed.

  • Surveying Experience: 5+ years of experience in land surveying, preferably in boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS survey environments.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, AutoCAD, Carlson, GIS mapping, and MS Office Suite.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues related to surveying and mapping projects.

Civil Engineer

Required Experience:

Job Responsibilities:

​

  • Conduct due-diligence tasks to determine feasibility of a land development project, including research of ordinances, codes, and other regulations, environmental impact studies, soils testing, utility service requirements, preliminary layouts and site plans, etc.

  • Prepare site construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including plans for site layout, parcel subdivisions, roadway profiles, grading, storm drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management (BMP), water and sewer service, landscaping, etc.

  • Complete design calculations using typical engineering formulas and/or computer software (Word, Excel, Hydraflow, SSA, etc.) and generate technical reports summarizing the calculations.

  • Prepare technical specifications.

  • Prepare permit applications and any required supplemental maps, narratives, and technical reports needed to support the design.

  • Prepare Construction Cost Estimates by conducting quantity takeoffs and estimating unit prices.

  • Conduct field inspections and observations.

  • Coordinate and communicate project status and technical details with project managers and clients.

  • Assist with construction and contract administration tasks, including bidding assistance, addendum and change order requests, pay requests, reviewing technical submittals, schedules, etc.

Construction Surveyor

Required Experience: 

​

  • Must be a Professionally Licensed Surveyor. Any state is accepted. Resources and assistance for licensure in NC will be provided by Joyner Keeny.

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction related survey computations and staking plans – such as erosion control, utility, grading and storm drainage and building layout that includes highway, commercial site and subdivision construction.

  • Extensive experience in the use and operation of Robotic total stations and electronic data collectors

  • Experience preparing topo survey, boundary, and ALTA/ACSM survey maps in addition to Plats, Change of Zone maps and easement exhibits.

  • Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, GIS mapping and MS Office Suite.

  • Must be able to solve problems related to fieldwork for surveying and mapping projects; supervise technicians and field crews on survey and mapping projects as well as attend required meetings.

  • Excellent communication skills.
